When it comes to tweeters there's three main types. Electrostatic, softdome (silk) or metal dome (aluminum or titanium). If your using electrostat (peizo) then you have no business in this website. They are very loud but will run an audiophile out of the car. If you were going to build a pain field generator use electrostat tweeters. Now back to the real tweeters. Hard dome (metal) can sound real nice they handle more power than soft and if your a metalhead hard dome is the tweeter for you. Now for all us audiophiles soft dome is our tweeter. Extremely good sound not harsh at all but they do not like distorsion and will blow before a hard dome. If your a seasoned audiophile you won't blow them anyway.
